About
About Me

I’m Elham (Ellie) Talay Minaei, a Bristol based watercolour artist, tutor, and lover of all things expressive and imperfectly beautiful.

My name means inspiration, and that’s exactly what I hope to share. Whether I’m teaching a class or creating a painting, my aim is the same: to spark confidence, freedom, and joy in others.

While I sometimes explore other media, watercolour is where I feel most at home. Its unpredictability mirrors the creative process itself, and my impressionistic style fits it like a glove.

I originally studied Interior Design, later completing degrees in Commercial Management and Capital Marketing, but my heart has always belonged to art. Over the years, I’ve worked with arts organisations across Bristol and now run my own classes and workshops, helping people reconnect with their creativity.

My teaching is welcoming and relaxed, with no judgement, no pressure, just growth. I guide my students with patience, humour, and respect for wherever they’re starting from, creating a safe space for expression.

When I’m not teaching or painting, you’ll probably find me with a sketchbook in hand, swimming, or exercising. I’m passionate, punctual, and always eager to learn something new, especially if it helps me support others on their creative journey.

Welcome to my little corner of the creative world. Whether you’re here to take a class, browse my artwork, or simply feel a spark of inspiration, I’m so glad you’re here.

Let’s use Watercolours to create memories to relish

My key objective is to share my passion with other Artists both established and newcomers.

I will ensure every student receives sufficient tuition time and support during the course, and crucially enjoys the outcome of the 8-week term.

I will share my experience with you and develop an atmosphere where you enjoy the positive energy that the classes will create.

All my classes will be held in Bristol. Online and Private classes will be launched in due course.

I intend to cover as many techniques as possible during each course to help students identify the techniques they are strong at and most comfortable with.

I generally utilise a variety of techniques which I have collected over the years. Some are commonly used by Artists, and others are more specific to my style of painting.

You’ll leave this course feeling proud with a great sense of achievement.
